Elaine, her husband, and their children travel to her sister's home for their Christmas vacation. Once they arrive, her oldest daughter reveals she doesn’t want to be there and their son is sick. They pay no mind to his illness and think it’s related to the long ride. Once everyone is together, the rest of the children start to show symptoms of the Flu and begin to act out and eventually become violent.
I remember back when they released this and a few other titles under the “Ghost House Underground” label. I was in middle school at the time, and they were on the new release wall of my local Hollywood Video. I never checked them out for some reason but had always wondered how they would be. Since Vudu had a weekend sale and I had some credits, I decided to pick this one up. It starts off rather strange and never changes its tone. The atmosphere is perfect for this time of year but there is nothing delightful about this film. They don’t really go into detail on the virus that is taking the children over one by one other than that we see its highly contagious. While most of the kills were off-screen a few caught me by surprise. It has a fair amount of gore added to make it a decent horror film. The main thing I had a problem with was the audio in the film. I could barely hear them at times to the point it was almost a chore. The film itself is creepy if you find children attacking adults in a violent manner and not bad for my first film in the series.
I give this film a 5/10.
